
Samantha Montano joined the Women of Emergency Management for a discussion about her experience, research and written works. Samantha is currently an associate professor of emergency management at Massachusetts Maritime Academy. She has taught courses on a range of disaster subjects and her research interests include basic emergency management theory, evaluation of emergency management policy and practice, and the perceptions of emergency management. Samantha has also published the book, Disasterology: Dispatches from the Frontlines of the Climate Crisis.

Heather Hollingsworth, from the Naval Postgraduate School Center for Homeland Defense and Security, joined the Women of Emergency Management for a discussion about the Center for Homeland Defense and Security. Heather provided comprehensive details about the Center's offerings, including various programs and application processes, while highlighting the transformation of leadership roles and the Center's collaborative approach across sectors. The discussion concluded with information about the Executive Leadership Program and Master's Program in Security Studies, including application requirements and the value of mentorship and networking opportunities.
